Application Instructions
Make sure inside rear window is clean. - Wet window thoroughly with water.
- Apply smooth side of lens against inside of window.
- Press water from center of lens to each side, thereby removing the air bubbles.
- SafeView will turn crystal clear in 24 hours and will stay on until peeled off. The lens won’t damage glass. It may be cleaned with mild detergent and water. Do not use alcohol based cleaners. Some states may limit use of products that could affect the field of view.
Helpful Tips
The easy-to-install lens is 6" x 8" and designed for the inside of the back window on SUVs VANs and MiniVANS, Station Wagons and Trucks with rear shells. As you apply the lens to the inside of your rear window, position it in the middle and as low as possible. For some larger vehicles with 2 swinging rear doors and 2 windows, position the lens on the lower corner closest to the middle of either of the 2 rear windows.
Also, when applying the SafeView lens, you may have to position it slightly off center to accommodate different vehicle styles. Some vehicles have rear windshield wipers or spare tires that will require you to apply the lens in such a manner.
We also recommend that once the lens is applied, test it. Place a traffic cone or other object behind your vehicle at different distances, and while sitting in the driver’s seat, look through the rear view mirror and through the lens. You may need or want to adjust the position of the lens slightly left, right, up or down on the back window to achieve optimal visibility for your unique viewing preference.
Lastly, while the SafeView lens or any good back-up safety device makes a bad situation significantly better, it is always best to look carefully behind the vehicle before getting in.
